Driver terms
Draft — last updated November 2026. Plain language, no surprises.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms apply to anyone who registers to drive with SupaRide ("you"). By creating a driver account you agree to them. You drive as an independent business, not as an employee of SupaRide.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 21, hold a valid driver's licence for at least 3 years, have the right to work in Canada, and meet all provincial and municipal rideshare licensing rules where you drive.
Your vehicle must be registered, insured for rideshare use, pass a SupaRide inspection, and meet the standards of the ride category you select.
3. Background checks & Supa Academy
Before your first trip you consent to a criminal background check and driving record review, repeated at least yearly.
You must complete Supa Academy (safety, defensive driving, hospitality and accessibility training) before driving and complete an annual refresher.
4. Fees & earnings
You earn 69% to 80% of each fare, minus applicable taxes and withholdings. Your gross commission rate is based on your average star rating: 5 stars (4.90–5.00) earns 80%, 4 stars (4.00–4.89) earns 77%, 3 stars (3.00–3.99) earns 74%, 2 stars (2.00–2.99) earns 71%, and 1 star (1.00–1.99) earns 69%.
Your rate is recalculated as your average rating changes and applies to trips completed after the change.
Your earnings for each trip are shown before you accept it. You keep 100% of tips. Pass-through charges such as airport fees and government levies are shown separately and do not reduce your fare.
Fees may change only with at least 30 days' written notice.
5. Payouts
Earnings are paid weekly at no cost. Instant cash outs to your debit card or bank are also available any time.
You are responsible for your own taxes, including registering for and remitting GST/HST where required.
6. Your choices
You choose when, where and how long you drive. You may accept or decline any trip request. Declining trips will never lower your fees.
7. Conduct & safety
Treat every rider with respect. Discrimination, harassment, threats, unwanted contact, or any illegal behaviour results in immediate deactivation and may be reported to police.
You must never drive impaired, use a handheld phone while driving, or carry riders beyond your vehicle's seatbelt capacity. Service animals must always be accepted.
Report any accident or safety incident to SupaRide's 24/7 safety team as soon as you are safe.
8. Ratings & deactivation
Riders rate trips to help keep service supa. If your account is at risk, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond, except where safety requires immediate action. You can appeal any deactivation.
9. Insurance
SupaRide maintains commercial insurance covering trips from the moment you accept a request until the rider is dropped off. You must keep personal auto insurance as required by law.
10. Privacy
We use your information only to run the platform, pay you, and keep everyone safe. We never sell your personal information.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop driving and close your account at any time. We may end these terms for serious breaches as described above.
12. Disputes & contact
Questions or disputes? Contact support@suparide.com or chat with Supa. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
